Twiin's Guide To A Merry Christmas Zoom!
It wouldn’t really be 2020 if we didn’t have to face yet another strange take on our usual traditions, of course with the addition of Zoom. Whilst it may not be so welcome after 9 months of various technical troubles (“you’re on mute!” “sorry you’ve frozen” “can anyone hear me?” are basically catch phrases for Team Twiin these days) yet again we are making the most of the current situation and gearing up for our Christmas party via Zoom.

So, we’re sharing our top tips for your own Merry Christmas Zoom! You’re welcome.

What to do?

Quiz
Okay, listen, we’re not reinventing the wheel here. If you’re not tired of them, a zoom quiz is the perfect way to spend time on your video call with a limited number of awkward moments. If you don’t have time to create your very own quiz, why not join a virtual pub quiz? These are also a great way to show your support for the hospitality industry if the quiz has an entrance fee.

Movie Night
If you’re yet to try Netflix Party then this is the perfect time. Throw on a cheesy Christmas movie and chat along as you go. Disney+ and Amazon Prime offer similar alternatives to suit your streaming needs. Bye-bye awkward small talk with those colleagues you haven’t seen since March!

House Party
An awesome alternative to Zoom - we spend far too much time on that app anyway - is House Party. The most laid back of all the video call apps, House Party allows any of your friends to join the call if they see you’re online, meaning hilarity often ensues. Not only that, but it’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t have time to create a quiz or plan their own games, as the app has plenty of options to keep you entertained.

What to wear?
Ah, our favourite question. Is it finally time to change out of your sweatpants? Er, maybe! We spoke to our team to see what they’re planning on donning during our upcoming Christmas party.

Ayla - Digital Marketing Manager

Of course, I will be wearing my namesake Ayla Blazer paired with the Stevie Top underneath and my beloved Staud Wide Leg Sweatpants just out of shot!

Polly - Buyer

As a huge Xirena fan, I will definitely be in their new season Farrah Top (Silver is my favourite) and Tyese Pant.

Imogen - Social Media Manager

I’ve come to terms with the fact that it may be time to change out of my Cotton Citizen sweats, so the team will be seeing me in the Marfa Dress! I wonder if they’ll even recognise me?

What to eat?

One Fine Dine
Many companies moved into new ventures when the first lockdown came to the UK, and One Fine Dine really stand out with their Christmas Party food delivery. The perfect option if you’re really looking to splash the cash.

Cookalong.tv
Why not forego the usual Zoom quiz or games and instead get together virtually with your team to create your own delicious meal? Cookalong.tv delivers all the ingredients and the live class is hosted by a professional chef.

What to drink?

Lollipop
Once again, if you have some budget to spend there are plenty of options for drinks to your coworker’s doors. Our favourite is Lollipop who deliver their handmade cocktails straight to your door.

Keep it simple!
Since we’re all spending more time at home, we won’t be making any unnecessary trips to the supermarket and instead will be rummaging through our cupboards for the tipples we have at home. Think that Bailey’s you received last Christmas and are yet to open, or the Prosecco you’d been saving for a special day (f*** it, 2020 is finally ending after all!).
